The first thing that stands out at the Alivio mountain bike groupset is the new design. Compared to the previous groupset it has a more aggressive look and a low profile design. The rear derailleur clearly shows this new look. Besides the new look, the rear derailleur now features Shimano’s Shadow RD technology. Known from higher level groupsets like SLX and Deore. Shadow RD is intended for more aggressive riding. Because of its low profile and single tension construction, the derailleur does not hit the chain stay in rough conditions
