Shimano Hydraulic Disc Brakes MT-520

Shimano disc brake at Deore level consisting of BL-MT501 brake lever and BR-MT520 caliper. The result of the combination is a solid brake performance in any condition. Trouble-free maintenance is provided by the proven One Way Bleeding concept and the Easy Hose Joint System which simplifies brake hose exchanges.

J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System) | At brake systems with J-Kit hose joint the brake lever features an integrated olive what makes an easy brake hose installation and removal possible.

Shimano BL-MT501 brake lever 

The Shimano BL-MT501 brake lever combines smooth design with stable performance. For more stiffness, the master cylinder features a highly rigid construction. The 2-finger brake lever provides predictable control with the right balance of power and rigidity thanks to the SERVOWAVE high power brake technology. I-Spec II compatible.

The BL-MT501 brake lever is not only compatible to the BR-MT520 but also to the BR-MT500 caliper.

SERVOWAVE | Shimano's SERVOWAVE technology improves brake lever's modulation ability. Because the lever absorbs a lot of braking distance right at the start of its movement, the brake pads have disc contact more quickly and it remains more lever travel to adjust braking force. That is why SERVO WAVE brake systems are characterized by faster response, higher performance and shorter idle travel.

I-Spec II | I-Spec II is an integrated mounting system for brake and shifting levers. It just needs one bracket which saves space, provides a cleaner optic and saves about 10 grams of weight. Furthermore the adjustability in horizontal direction offers an optimized individual setup.

Only mountable on I-Spec II compatible brake levers. Not compatible with I-Spec A/B.

Shimano BR-MT520 disc brake caliper

Despite its 4-piston design, the BR-MT520 brake caliper has the same slim design as its counterpart with 2-pistons, the BR-MT500 caliper. Its pistons are heat insulated for an improved control of brake pad wear. With its stable braking force the hydraulic MT520 disc brake corresponds to various riding styles.
